We believe that Jesus Christ is God's own son who became a man so that he could be the perfect sacrifice and die for the sins of the world. These sins cover everyone who has ever lived, is living, and whoever will live in the future. Everyone is born with an original sin passed on throughout generations starting with Adam's first sin (Romans 3:12). By ourselves we cannot achieve heaven (Romans 3:23). No matter how good we are or what we do, we cannot get to heaven except by accepting Jesus has died for our sins, (John 3:16 &17 ) and only by submitting everything to Him can we get into heaven. This may seem pretty heavy, but think about it a minute...if you were crossing a street one day in the city, and a big truck came out of nowhere and was going to hit you, then this stranger walks out and pushes you out of the way, saving your life. The total stranger ends up dying. Why did he do that? Well, you come to find out later that this stranger has actually been looking out for you your whole life. He's been helping you out of situations without you even knowing it, then finally he is revealed to you and he dies for you. Now what do you think? By looking in the Bible, we find that God has been watching us since we were born and He sent Jesus to die in our place so that we may live. Jesus died, then overcame death and now lives in heaven. It is evident in the Bible that everyone will live for eternity. This will either be eternal death or eternal life - we only have a certain amount of time on earth to decide what that will be (John 1:12). Either we accept that Jesus is the way to eternal life (John 14:6) or we don't and then suffer the consequences. By giving your life to Christ, you lose nothing and gain everything! (Phillipians 3:8) Some people tend to think that Christians have no fun and are dull. Well, the truth is that there are Christians like that. But it doesn't have to be that way at all. You get out of it what you put into it. Most Christians that are truly living a relationship with Christ are having a great time! The more you know God, the more fun it gets. You still get to laugh, joke around, meet people, live in your same house and all that. The only difference is that you have a new focus in your life which is living for Jesus because He died for you. There is more freedom in a Christian's life because all of your worries, concerns, hopes, and dreams, rest on Christ Jesus. You will find yourself wanting to pray and tell others about Christ - it's not a requirement to pray for half the day, not eat for weeks at a time, or always be singing. It's just believing in Jesus. After that first step, God takes over. Becoming a Christian is not a guarantee on life being a breeze. Not at all. There will be hard times and times of contemplation, but knowing that God is always available, and that He is right next to you makes it much easier to deal with. Ok, this may be a lot of information to deal with right now, but think it over. Take time and make a solid commitment in the next few days. Read some of the scriptures that are referenced below, explore other parts of the Bible, ask people who you know are Christians about their faith. Please think this through and make a firm decision in your life. Below is a short prayer which you may want to consider - it's no magic prayer, you may say what you want from doing your research and what you think of God. Be sincere and honest with God, he knows all about you anyways, so might as well just be honest. He will help you understand and answer your doubts. "Dear God, I know that I have sinned and that I can do nothing to make up for my sin. Nothing I do will make me pure. But I would like to ask you to forgive me of the sin in my life. I claim the blood of Jesus that was shed to cover my sin so that I will not go through eternal death, but eternal life with you. God, please help me to know you better and to live the best that I can for you. I put my life in your hands and believe that it is well cared for. Thank you for always loving me. In Jesus' name, Amen." If you need further guidance, please seek a good church in your area, and please
